イタリア語の都市は英語は違って呼ばれていることは皆さんご存知だと思います。
例えば、MilanoはMilan、VeneziaはVence(これはベニスの商人でも有名で日本
本でもベニスと書いてあるものがありますね）NapoliはNaples、 RomaはRome。
ではTurinはどこだと思いますか？
答えはTorinoです。英語ってテキトーだなあ、と思いますか？
でも実は現地語（ピエモンテ方言）でトリノはTurin といいます。ある意味では英語の方が正確だと言えますね。英語と同じで子音で終わり感じがにています。ピエモンテの代表料理でアニョロッティ・ダル・プリンというのがありますが、何と無く語感がにています。
In English Torino is called Turin and you may think that English people are so arrogant so that they have changed its name in a strange way but it is vice versa, in the language of Piemonte, Torino is called Turin.
