イタリア語で好きな言葉があります。
tramontoです。 山の尾根の間に日が沈む光景が浮かびます。
tramontoが夕暮れなんて、、なんて詩情あふれた言葉なんでしょう。
日本語は黄昏、誰そ彼 (chi e?)から来ています。これも詩情あふれていますね。
詩的ではありませんがこの言葉を見ると イタリア語のnonsoche(何か不思議なもの)を思い出します。
英語って便利なんですけど、sunsetしか思いつかなくてなんか詩情がないなあと思うこともあります。
The sunset is called ‘ tramonto’ in Italian which means literally ‘between the mountains ‘ ,how poetic it is!
