ローマ帝国というと地中海沿岸を治めた 巨大な帝国というイメージがあります。
また日本というと「せまいニッポンどこへ行く？」などと言われるようになんとなくせまいイメージがあります。我々はなぜか歴史の授業で昭和史というものを教わりませんが、戦前の大日本帝国は思いのほか大きい国です。
例えば、遠い世界と考えられているシンガポール、この都市もかつては日本の領土でした。
史上１番の領土はイギリス帝国ですが、大日本帝国も1942年に740万㎢となっており、一方ローマ帝国の最大の大きさは117年の650万㎢です。
