Il 14 dicembre 1701 i samurai di Ako hanno assalto ‘Signore Kira’ per vendetta.
Il 21 aprile 1701 il loro padrone Signore Asano era costretto a fare il seppuku( il metodo di prendersi la responsabilità tra i samurai) dopo la zuffa con Signore Kira. Le punizioni dopo la zuffa per loro non erano uguali. Non c’era la punizione contro Signore Kira ma ero molto grave contro Asano e i suoi subordinati. Loro sono diventati come i ROSHI o i RONIN( i samurai precari) senza il padrone. Allora loro avevano cominciato a vendicare contro Kira e finalmente ce l’hanno fatta.
I membri principali di Roshi hanno fatto i seppuku nel giardino di Signore Matsudaira. （Adesso è la zona dell’Ambasciata d’Italia) dopo l’assalto.
Il canone della giustizia cambia dipendendo dal periodo o dalla regione. Oggigiorno il loro atto sarebbe considerato come un atto di terrorismo ma allora e stato considerato come un atto di fedeltà e la gente pensavano che loro fossero gli eroi e dopo è diventato un articolo di Kabuki o altri spettacoli.
