canoa とcanottaggio

イタリア人でも結構わかっていない人もいるようですが、上の二つは違います

canoaは日本後でいうカヌー（競技）です。
一方canottaggioは日本で言うところの手漕ぎボート（競技）　です。

canoaの競技者がcanoistaでcanottaggioの競技者がcanottiereとなります。
紛らわしいですね。
