‘tachimetro’ is not tachometer!

English article

Attention!
Tachimetro‘ is not the tachometerbut the speedometer in Italian.
The tachometer is ‘contagiri‘ in Italian. It has a lot of reasons that Italian word ‘contagiri’ is the device that counts the rotation.

As a matter of fact , tach- or taco are the prefixes that illustrate the speed which came from old Greek so tachometer originally must have had the meaning of ‘speedometer’.

On top of that as a Japanese it is very interesting in English they write ‘speedometer’
not ‘speedmeter’ because as a Japanese it it sounds like Japa-English or Italian.
